Join us on a Research Expedition to Northern Costa Rica!
In partnership with the Wild Cat Imaging Project, we will travel to northern Costa Rica to visit a range of active wild cat research projects. Participants will gain first-hand insight into modern camera-trap technology and field methodologies, guided by experienced professionals working at the forefront of conservation research.
Who is
The Wild Cat Imaging Project is a conservation initiative focused on raising awareness for wild cats across the globe, through cutting edge camera trap technology. With camera traps deployed around the world and their dedicated team, WCIP have been able to capture high quality images of these elusive animals and gather valuable ecological data on these endangered species.
With a mission to amplify conservation efforts for wild cats by harnessing the power of visual storytelling and scientific research. WCIP truly are doing amazing work to help the conservation of these elusive animals.

Day 1- Arrive in San Jose & depart to Monteverde Cloud Forest.
Day 2 - Morning, afternoon & evening wildlife tour
Day 3 - Morning tour, workshop & debrief on Guanacaste, depart midday
Day 4 - 9 Wild Cat / Camera Trap Research in Guanacaste
Day 10 - Depart Guanacaste and return to San Jose
This is a camera-trap–focused research expedition, with a significant portion of the programme dedicated to the deployment, maintenance, and data collection of field equipment. That said, the experience is deliberately varied, and wildlife observation will remain a constant focus throughout the journey.
Participants can expect to gain a strong understanding of how camera traps function and why they are such a critical tool in modern conservation. Alongside the research work, the expedition will include river excursions, exceptional raptor viewing, guided night walks in the jungle, and a wide range of other wildlife-rich activities.
